# Jiří Běloch (whis)

Canonical page: https://about.whis.gg/

Software engineer. Independent builder. Always curious.

Jiří Běloch, also known as whis, builds software that makes complex things feel simple. He is based in the Czech Republic and works remotely, wherever good problems take him. He is open to B2B engagements.

## At a glance

- 15+ years in algorithmic trading
- C# and .NET are his home territory
- 3 ventures, past and in progress
- End to end, from idea to shipped product

## How he thinks

Coding started with curiosity and a desire to automate things. Competitive games taught him to look for patterns, question the obvious, and keep improving. Trading brought those instincts together.

He works across architecture, APIs, rendering, UI, and delivery. He cares about the details people feel: a chart that responds immediately, a tool that needs no explanation, and a system that stays maintainable as it grows.

Principles: modular thinking, ownership, performance, clarity.

## Selected work

### Chart Enhancer 2.0

NinjaTrader 8 independent product, 2026. https://whis.gg/products/chart-enhancer

A ground-up rewrite of his charting toolkit. Native SharpDX and WPF rendering, clearer trade visualization, and a modular architecture where each feature owns its lifecycle. C#, WPF / SharpDX, product design.

### NinjaTrader Launcher

NinjaTrader 8 free tool. https://whis.gg/products/launcher

A small tool that removes daily friction: version switching, automatic login, workspace selection, and startup cleanup in one pre-launch window. Desktop tooling and workflow automation.

### Algorithmic trading research

Active personal research and development. He researches and develops systematic approaches for his own trading, and also works with others on a small hedge fund startup. He studies market cycles to establish the current directional bias, then uses order flow, liquidity, and volatility to understand when and how to execute. The aim is to connect market context with practical decisions about entries, trade management, and exits.

Algorithmic risk management is central: position sizing, hedging, and understanding exposure across positions as conditions change, and how those decisions shape expectancy, drawdowns, and the ability to withstand unfavorable periods.

He cares equally about how a strategy is tested: questioning assumptions, accounting for execution costs, and evaluating performance beyond the data used to develop it. The goal is to avoid overfitting, understand the limits of the evidence, and build realistic expectations rather than optimize for an attractive backtest.

Topics: market cycles, order flow and execution, risk and position sizing, hedging, strategy validation.

### A trading platform built around the way he works

His own cross-platform, broker-neutral trading platform, already used internally. It is intended for developers and systematic traders who want to work across markets, data providers, and brokers without rebuilding their workflow. The direction is a modular foundation that connects research, strategy development, testing, and execution.

- Now: internal use and development
- 2027 Q2, target: release to a small group of traders
- After that: broader public availability

The goal is to learn from a small group of traders before opening it more widely.

### Custom .NET obfuscator

Personal research, under test. He is building a .NET obfuscator meant to keep pace with AI-assisted reverse engineering, raising the effort of low-effort attacks while keeping the cost to legitimate development low. It encrypts method bodies to conceal their IL instructions. Performance and everyday tooling are core requirements. No obfuscation is unbreakable. The focus is resilience without excessive build, startup, or runtime overhead, and without losing useful CPU profiling, reflection, and error tracking. He tests against current AI models.

Topics: .NET internals, method-body encryption, AI resistance testing.

## Experience

Independent work, engineering teams, and three ventures.

- **Tickblaze**, Senior Software Engineer. February 2024 – October 2026. Trading-platform engineering, premium indicators, APIs, and UI/UX. He replaced a cumbersome development setup and manual releases, batch files over Remote Desktop, with fully automated CI/CD. Now prioritizing B2B engagements.
- **Independent / Upwork**, Senior Software Development Engineer. March 2019 – present. https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/jirib. Custom trading software and strategies, with a 100% job success rate and a 5/5 client rating. He works to understand client needs, suggest better solutions, and deliver quickly with minimal revisions.
- **Algotic**, Founder, Algonauts Limited. April 2023 – April 2024. Focused NinjaTrader 8 plugins, including the original Chart Enhancer.
- **PoshTrader**, Co-founder and CTO. January 2019 – June 2024. End-to-end development of the trading products and the business systems behind them: the website, vendor and affiliate management, licensing system and API, billing, and distribution.
- **Ninjacators**, Lead Software Engineer. February 2021 – December 2022. Sole product developer. Built new products, maintained existing ones, and replaced ZIP-based workflows with Git and a custom project structure and build process.
- **Blocshop**, Full Stack Engineer. March 2019 – January 2021.
- **ClickAlgo**, Software Developer. February 2017 – December 2019. Custom indicators and automated trading strategies for cTrader.

### Education and languages

- Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Economics – IT, 2014–2016.
- Lingua Sandy Language School. English language studies, 2013–2014.
- SPŠST Panská. Photographic and film/video technology, 2009–2013.
- Czech, native. English, professional working proficiency.

## Toolbox

Depth in .NET, curiosity everywhere.

C#, .NET, WPF, Blazor, ASP.NET, MSBuild, GitHub Actions. He structures monolithic .NET solutions for rapid development and long-term maintainability, and uses MSBuild to keep complex build processes consistent and automated.

Favorite platforms: NinjaTrader, cTrader, TradingView. Rider is his main development environment, with AI tools supporting research, planning, and implementation. Obsidian for notes.

## Beyond the screen

- **Movement and mastery.** Climbing, calisthenics, and the gym. Technique, patience, and consistency.
- **Games with depth.** Competitive games and co-op RPGs, especially combat that rewards timing and skill, and the physics and systems behind the game.
- **The long way home.** Cars, a manual BMW Z4, and an open road.
- **A quieter kind of life.** Nature, space to think, and two Abyssinian cats. Drawn to a simpler home close to the outdoors.

What drives him is freedom to build and room to live: independence, curiosity, and the satisfaction of making something useful.

- **Autonomy.** He likes forming his own judgment and having the freedom to act on it.
- **Ownership.** If his name is on it, he wants to stand behind it. Bringing Chart Enhancer back under his own name reflects that.
- **Mastery.** Markets, climbing, and games. He questions assumptions, looks for patterns, and tests ideas. High standards help, and so does knowing when to ship.
- **Balance.** Clean design, a calm environment, close relationships, movement, nature, and his two cats.
